Work For Us
There are a number of roles and opportunities to work in a voluntary capacity for Relate Lancashire.
Voluntary receptionists are a vital part of our organisation who greet clients, manage the office diary and take contributions from the clients. Receptionists are needed in each of our Lancashire offices and should be willing to offer at least three hours a month, preferably during the evenings. Receptionists must be punctual and be able to maintain confidentiality. Travel expenses are paid.
Our counsellors are all highly trained and qualified professionals who adhere to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Guidelines (BACP). There are a number of levels of training offered by the Relate Institute. Someone with an individual counselling qualification may be able to take a short Relate Institute course to convert to Relationship Therapy.
Whilst on a course with the institute, counsellors are required to have a work placement usually in their local area.
Trustees are required to attend bi-monthly board meetings in the Preston office. Trustees are a key part of the Relate team and bring networking, business and third sector skills to the organisation, represent the charity at a local level and help promote and develop our services.
We are very grateful to those authorities and agencies who generously fund our services:
- Lancashire County Council.
- Daniels and Houghton Charity.
- Lancaster City Council.
- West Lancashire District Council.
- BBC Children in Need.
- The Big Lottery.
The charity is always looking for alternative means of funding, so if you wish to support our services, there are a few ways in which this can be done:
- Set up a standing order with your bank.
- Remember us in your will.
- Or you could alternatively consider giving your time as a volunteer receptionist.
